Antiparasitic

Antiparasitic refers to medications or substances that are used to treat or prevent parasitic infections. Parasites are organisms that live on or inside another organism (the host) and benefit at the host’s expense. Examples of parasites include protozoa, worms, and insects. Antiparasitic drugs are used to treat a wide range of parasitic infections, including those caused by protozoa, such as malaria, and those caused by worms, such as filariasis and schistosomiasis. Antiparasitic medications can be classified into different groups based on the type of parasite they target and their mechanism of action. Examples of antiparasitic drugs include mebendazole, ivermectin, and albendazole.
